Hello! I’m Carla, and I’m excited to share my story with you. Born in Peru, my passion for creativity has shaped my life in remarkable ways.

My artistic journey began in high school when friends introduced me to Pergamano, or parchment crafting. Intrigued, I eagerly joined in, transforming into a "card factory" as I created and sold hundreds of cards for various occasions, from Mother’s Day to Christmas. With the support of my cousin, who helped spread the word, I turned my passion into a small business at just 18 years old.

While pursuing my degree in Industrial Engineering—which I completed with honors—I also worked in a dental office and honed my sewing skills. These experiences fueled my creativity and helped fund my education.

One of the highlights of my journey was participating in the Bristol Parchment Craft Exhibition in 2015. Nestled in the vibrant atmosphere of Bristol, England, this enriching experience allowed me to connect with fellow crafters, learn new techniques, and draw fresh inspiration. Sharing my work with a wider audience not only deepened my appreciation for this art form but also made the entire experience truly unforgettable.

Crafting has taught me patience and relaxation, allowing each card and crocheted accessory to express my artistic spirit. I love innovating with new techniques and colors, striving to evoke joy with every piece. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing the delight on someone’s face when they discover one of my creations or enhance their beauty with my earrings.

Now, with over 21 years of experience as a Realtor in Northern Virginia and Virginia Beach, I still find time to nurture my passion for crafting. One of my greatest joys was volunteering at a local school, teaching children the art of card-making. It’s incredible to see their surprise and delight as they unlock their creative potential. Additionally, I have the privilege of giving handmade card lessons at the local prison in Trujillo-Peru. This experience has been profoundly rewarding, as it allows me to share creativity and hope with individuals who can benefit from a positive outlet.
